Launched in 1963, The Carrera collection's story began earlier in 1950, the year when the La Carrera Panamericana or "The Mexican Road Race" started, which ultimately breathed life into an iconic sports watch designed for sports car drivers and enthusiasts. This modern timepiece is the most elegant expression of the Carrera. It features a 39 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case with a sunray blue dial under a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal. It is complemented by luminescent silver-tone hands and applied indices as hour markers. The signed crown sits at the 3 o'clock position while the bordered date aperture lies symmetrical at the 6 o'clock position. Touches of white contrast are evident via the dial texts, date background, and minute markers. This watch is fitted with a matching stainless steel bracelet and secured by a folding clasp with double safety push buttons. The exhibition caseback showcases the Calibre 5, a Swiss automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, generating up to 38 hours of power reserve, and is water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet.
