Boasting of nautical-inspired features such as a stainless steel case, uni-directional rotating bezel, screw down crown and 200-meters of water resistance, Luminox's Modern Mariner series is well-equipped for the modern man facing tough challenges ahead. This Modern Mariner in "blackout" version features a 45 mm black PVD case with a matte black design dial matched with gunmetal gray pencil-style hands and Arabic numerals in both 12- and 24-hour formats. Tritium-based luminescent tubes called LLT's illuminate the watch thru its hands, around the sloped flange and inside the bezel pip. This is complemented by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a uni-directional rotating dive bezel, also in black PVD coating and a bordered date window at the 3 o'clock position adjacent to the screw down crown. Other gunmetal gray contrasts are evident via the dial texts, Luminox shield, date border and strap stitching amidst the all black timepiece. A black PVD-coated steel bracelet secured by a folding clasp with safety completes the tough and stealthy look. This watch has a screw down caseback wherein underneath lies a Ronda caliber 715 HH6, a Swiss quartz movement and is water-resistant up to 200 meters/660 feet.
