Blending the functionality of modern Swiss timepieces with an updated retro look, The Atacama Field 1900 series is the ultimate incarnation of an iconic design. The field watch gained popularity during the First World War due to soldier's demands for accurate and durable timepieces. This Atacama Field features a 45 mm gunmetal PVD case with a black carbon fiber dial matched with gray pencil-style hands and Arabic numerals as hour markers in both 12- and 24-hour formats. Tritium-based luminescent tubes called LLT's illuminate the watch thru its hands and inserted along the sloped flange as secondary hour markers. This is complemented by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a black PVD-coated fixed bezel. The bordered day and date windows are interestingly apart, the day window being at the 3 o'clock position adjacent to the sizeable screw down crown while the day window is at the 9 o'clock position. Touches of white and red contrast is evident via the dial texts and markers, Luminox shield, day/date and flange. A black leather strap is secured by a gunmetal PVD-coated steel buckle and completes the contemporary yet vintage look. This watch has a screw down caseback wherein underneath lies the Ronda caliber 517 HH6, a Swiss quartz movement and is water-resistant up to 200 meters/660 feet.
