Oris presents a new partnership with Belgium's Air Force Search and Rescue Team, the 40th Squadron Heli, formed in 1974. This limited edition of 500 pieces honors the squadron's five decades of service and features a 45 mm multi-piece gray PVD-coated stainless steel case and oversized screw-down crown that holds a matte black dial under a double-domed sapphire crystal. It has beige and luminescent obelisk hands and Arabic numerals as hour markers. This watch has an angled coin-edge fixed bezel which resembles a jet engine's turbine. Similar design cues are evident on the caseback and screw-down crown as well. Touches of orange, beige, and green contrast, the livery of the 40th Squadron's Sea King helicopters, are evident via the dial texts, hands, big day/date, hour/minute markers, and strap. It is fitted with an olive green textile strap on a security folding clasp which interestingly resembles an aircraft seatbelt. Encased underneath the solid caseback engraved with the 40th Squadron's insignia and limited edition number is the Oris caliber 752, a Swiss automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, generating up to 38 hours of power reserve, and is water-resistant up to 100 meters/330 feet. This limited edition Oris Big Crown ProPilot also comes with a certificate and a special presentation box.
