This Historiador Hemingway GMT pays tribute to the legendary writer, Ernest Hemingway, who spent more than 20 years in Cuba and deeply loved the country for its Latin identity. Cuervo y Sobrinos in collaboration with Hemingway Limited honors the American writer, a longtime and loyal customer of the brand, with a special release and extremely limited edition of only 5 pieces. It features a 40 mm stainless steel case with a polished fixed 24-hour scale bezel that holds a textured beige (sand) dial under a double curved sapphire crystal. It has silver-tone and luminescent syringe hands with burgundy Arabic numerals and the brand's crest at the 12 o'clock position as hour markers. Complementing this vintage-style sports watch are teardrop lugs, a signed crown, GMT hand, and a date aperture at the 6 o'clock position. Characteristic Hemingway-inspired details include the writer's name and the year "1956" printed on the dial, his famous quote, "Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky" engraved around the flange, and Hemingway's Marlin-emblem engraved on the movement's rotor. It is fitted with a beige (sand) CORDURA® textile strap and also includes an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet, both secured by a stainless steel signed folding clasp. The exhibition caseback highlights the caliber CYS 8122, a Swiss automatic GMT movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, generating up to 42 hours of power reserve, and is water-resistant up to 100 meters/330 feet.
