A collection with an impeccable pedigree, the Longines Spirit was created by the winged hourglass brand, drawing inspiration from its heritage of going hand in hand with legendary pioneers who conquered air, land and sea. This new Spirit Zulu Time takes after its namesake, Longines' 1925 dual-time zone watch which also bore the "Zulu" signal flag on its dial indicating "Z" time a.k.a. "Zulu Time" hence the name, also an aviation and military term for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). It features a 42 mm stainless steel case that holds a matte gray dial under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and is bordered by an 18K yellow gold-capped bi-directional rotating bezel with 24-hour markers on a chocolate brown ceramic top ring. It also has yellow gold-tone and luminescent pencil hands with applied Arabic numerals as hour markers. A polished yellow gold-tone ring separates the main dial from the outer minute track where diamond-shaped luminescent markers are laid out every 5-minute intervals, lining up with the yellow gold-tone and diamond-shaped tip of the revolving second hand. Complementing this pilot's chronometer in yellow gold-tone are the winged emblem, dial texts, distinctive 5-star emblem, date, GMT hand, and the oversized screw-down crown which is also capped in 18K yellow gold. It is fitted with a matching stainless steel bracelet and secured by a double safety folding clasp and push-piece opening mechanism. The solid caseback is decorated with Longines' winged hourglass over a globe meridian background. Encased within is the caliber L844.4, a COSC-certified Swiss automatic GMT chronometer movement beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour generating up to 72 hours of power reserve, and is water-resistant up to 100 meters/300 feet.
