IWC Aquatimer "Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau" Special Edition Automatic Stainless Steel Blue Dial Black Rubber Strap Date Divers Mens Watch Model# IW329005 Since the 1960's, IWC Schaffhausen has had close connections with diving, eventually prompting the company to launch the first Aquatimer in 1967 due to the sport's increasing popularity. This special edition IWC Aquatimer is a tribute to French oceanographer, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his foundation, the Cousteau Society in which IWC is an active supporter. It features a 42 mm stainless steel case that holds a striking sunray blue dial under a scratch-resistant convex sapphire crystal. A mechanical external bezel controls the internal uni-directional rotating dive bezel which also happens to be the sloped flange. It has silver-tone and luminescent paddle-like hands and applied indices as hour markers. The date aperture is located at 3 o'clock adjacent to the screw down crown while the drive wheel of the bezel's SafeDive system is at 9 o'clock. A subtle orange contrast is evident via the triangular tip of the seconds hand. Fitted with a black rubber strap and secured by a stainless steel signed buckle which completes the durable look. This watch also features a screw down caseback inscribed with Jacques-Yves Cousteau's image, encasing the caliber 30120, a Swiss automatic movement boasting 42 hours of power reserve, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is water-resistant up to 300 meters/1000 feet.
