Junghans used to manufacture control panel timing instruments for airplanes and airships which ultimately led to devising a legendary pilot's chronograph for the German Armed Forces in the 1950's, the Bundeswehr-Chronograph. A series under Junghan's Meister collection, the Pilot Chronoscope was a product of the brand's expertise combined with a century of enthusiasm for aviation. This Pilot Chronoscope features a 43.3 mm stainless steel case with a domed matte dark green dial that has a lacquered effect under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It has silver-tone and luminescent sword hands with Arabic numerals and indices as hour markers. Surrounding it is a bi-directional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale, ergonomically designed with 12 concave notches providing exceptional grip and a unique look. This is complemented by a bi-compax subdial layout (60-secs. & 30-mins.), central chronograph seconds hand, oversized crown, pump-style pushers at the 2 and 4 o'clock positions, and historical Junghans lettering. Fitted with a green/black leather strap and secured with a stainless steel signed buckle. The solid caseback is held by 7 screws and engraved with an aviation-themed image which encases the caliber J880.3, a Swiss automatic chronograph movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour generating up to 42 hours of power reserve and is water resistant up to 100 meters/330 feet.
